philip johnson glass house

built in 1949 on what was then 5 acres outside of new canaan, connecticut, philip johnson’s iconic glass house is open to the public for the first time starting june 23, 2007. thrilling news for those who revere the dwelling’s singular vision and unapologetic union with the surrounding landscape.

another exciting piece of news is that artwork created by johnson’s friends and collected by the architect (cindy sherman, brice marden, frank stella, donald judd, andy warhol) is still on view at the property.
