melanie flood projects is a salon-style gallery space in fort greene, brooklyn, owned by ms. melanie flood. melanie is an SVA-trained photographer herself, and her mission with the new gallery is to present the work of unknown and under-represented artists in a domestic environment.

we are totally enamored with the look and feel of her apartment. modern pieces like the arco lamp and transparent bookcase are kept from being too cookie-cutter thanks to a treasure trove of personal artifacts lying around. the edison bulbs are a cool touch, and the space above the fireplace is filled with a collection of quirky, funny, pretty objects.

the current show features photography by maximilian haidacher. the next opening is slated for january 28, 2009 with new work by bradley peters.
