the age of design

taste of design

sugar bakeshop in charleston is a sunny, inviting space in which to chow down on cookies and cupcakes (we would recommend the crispy ginger molasses cookie).  owners bill bowick and david bouffard moved down south five years ago after successful careers as architects in new york.  it shows: the industrial steel track curtain, limed wall finish, vintage seating, and perfect little accents hint that sugar isn’t your everyday bakery.

also deemed one of the country’s best bakeshops by none other than bon appetit magazine.  bon appetit, indeed!

This is so inspiring for my bakery! I’m opening in spring, and am still searching for visual inspiration… Thank you very much!
